Have you ever used the below type of Mop? I have. For more than 15 years. This MOP is very hard – like a stone if its not soaked in water. If I use the mop daily, there is still moisture in it and it will be easily used to mop. It soaks up heaps of water. But if I have not used it for days or weeks, I need to soak this mop for more than 3+ hours before I can use it again.

We are like this MOP which is hard, for many various reasons… So, we need to Soak in the Presence of God to get us soft, drenched in His love, glory, peace, joy, presence and EVERYTHING that we need.

Soaking is something that I do on a regular basis. When I was introduced to Soaking, in 2015, I did on a daily basis and sometimes twice daily for more than 1-2 hours. I was going through a period of time in my life that I needed God more than ever. I realized that when I go into Soaking, I receive healing, God’s presence, visions, revelations and many more surprises.  There were times when I do Soaking and there were nothing much and there were times when I actually slept but at the end of the Soaking session, when I go about doing things, I could feel the bubbling of the presence of God in my spirit.

Before you continue reading the article, I would like to encourage you to go into Soaking with one desire, that is, to BE with Him. Receiving healing, visions, revelations and surprises are the benefit and by-products of BEING with Him. Its like this, would you prefer your child coming to you to BE with you or WANTING something from you. Of course as parents, either way we are happy but MORE happy when they just want to spend time with us.

What is Soaking? How to do Soaking?

What if you have 101 things going through your mind?

When I first started, I could hardly sit still because I had so many things going through my head…e.g. the dishes needs done, emails needed respond, groceries needs to be purchased, etc. So, I had to practice and train my mind to rest. Just write down all the “to-do” things, it helped me to get it off my mind. I FORCED myself to sit down and Soak! I was practically training myself to sit still and my mind to be still. I am proud to say that after many years of regularly practicing Soaking, I can now sit still.

Many people have approached and say that they can’t do Soaking because their mind cannot be empty or focused. Let me explain, our mind is not meant to be ’empty’, we are suppose to have the mind of Christ. As we minds that drifts here and there, that is also quite normal especially for female. We always have things to think about. The interesting challenge is to discern if the thoughts are of God or not.

You may have to do this a few times continuously before you can calmly do Soaking but don’t give up!

What if I fall asleep?

Its OK to fall asleep. For some people, this is the best sleep they ever had! Just continue with Soaking when you awake. There are ways to avoid from sleeping by walking or standing till the sleepiness wanes off. The effective of Soaking is lesser when you fall asleep. You can do that once a while but not every single time. If you do fall asleep regularly, you may have to ensure there is still 50-60% of awake time.

What if I don’t feel anything?

When I first started Soaking, I didn’t feel anything. After I persisted for weeks and months and for hours then I started to feel something. I would suggest that even if you don’t feel anything initially, continue to persevere and persist. I discovered that doing Deep Relief Now (DRN) to remove barriers between me and God, helps a lot.

I have had time when I felt nothing much DURING Soaking time but after I finished and went about my daily things, I felt God’s presence and my spirit bubbling from the belly. It was a beautiful feeling and I knew it was because of my time in Soaking. So, you can understanding why this is so addictive for me?

Individual or Group Soaking?

You can do both but don’t neglect your daily solo Soaking time. In my personal experience, the Corporate/Group Soaking is so wonderful and powerful. Whenever you can, gather 2 or more for a session!

Why do I recommend Soaking?

Soaking is a time where often God surprises me. Whatever that I needed, which I didn’t even realize I needed, was given to me during Soaking. Sometimes, I have a focus expectation when I go into Soaking, example, I needed healing because of woundedness. I am usually not disappointed but other times, I just let God surprise me. During Soaking, I take time to connect with Father God, Jesus the Bridegroom King, Holy Spirit, individually and separately. It has been a real awesome time.

Have a journal nearby

Keep a notebook and pen nearby to write down what God is showing or speaking to you.

My Testimony & Experiences

I know that God is my Father but I didn’t really have a deep connection with Him. Not the way that I knew I wanted. I have been a Christian for more than 30+ years at that time. But yet, He was not Abba Father, just Father God. The God who sits in heaven.

My earthly father was absent and not a father to me. Therefore, I realize that because of that, there may be some reason why I am unable to connect with Father God in a deep level. The heart level.

One day during Soaking time, Father God began to show me visions of Him carrying and cuddling me. I was a little girl on His shoulders. Feeling very close and safe. It was not just a vision but a revelation that came deep into my spirit. It was the revelation that I needed about Father God and since that day, my relationship with Father God has never been the same.

There were revelations about Jesus as well. There were various revelations and visions I had of Jesus spending time loving me and it was all in Soaking time.

So, when I was introduced to SOAKING. It was a tough discipline. But the results that I had was LIFE CHANGING and ADDICTIVE. Anytime when I was wounded, needed comfort, needed His presence… and I just go to the “lap of my Father and lay on His Chest” in Soaking. When I wanted “Kisses of the His Mouth” I go to Soaking. It was so beyond awesome the revelation of RELATIONSHIP, INTIMACY.

Recently I had another wonderful moment in Soaking and you can read it here.

Some Scriptures on Soaking

Ps. 23: 1-3 – “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul;”

Ps. 131:2 — “Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother”.

Ps. 42:7 & 8 – “Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves & breakers have swept over me. By day the Lord directs His love, at night His song is with me – a prayer to the God of my life.”

Lastly but not least, open up your spiritual heart = bible heart = belly to God throughout your Soaking session!
