Outreach to Fishing Village: Khun Chamlong

We have been going to the Fishing Village (Slum Village) since Oct 2017. This is a village which we used to visit in 2015 for 1 year and then stopped. Its is next to the sea and most of them are Fishermen. During the day time, most of the men and women goes to work.

We walk around the the village and talk with the people as the Lord leads us to divinely.

At the time of the writing, we have been there for 6+ months at the Fishing Village. Let me share some of the happenings there in a summarized version.

Visited Fishing Village in a team of 6 persons. When we arrived at the Village, we passed Khun Chamlong’s house. He was almost skin and bones, having been diagnosed as having lung cancer some 6 months prior to us visiting him. He was sent home to die and have been lying down on this bed for 5 months now.

Our 1st visit to K Chamlong in his house.

He has been sent home because there was nothing else that the doctors could do for him. He was in a very bad condition.

We shared Jesus with him and he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He remembered that when he was 11 years old, he read a leaflet about Jesus. So, we pray for him and for a miraculous healing to happen in his body and life.

As the weeks and months passed, Khun Chamlong begins to feel better, he stopped coughing blood, his appetite increased and began to eat more. He started to have energy to walk and so, he walked around the village once a day. After some weeks later, he started walking morning and evening, twice a day. Eventually he could walk everywhere anytime he wanted.

There were many times when we visited him on Sundays, he was NOT around because he walks to his Mother’s home. So, there many weeks that we did not get to see him.

When the Health Staff from the local clinic visits him, they were shocked to see him improving and looking healthier. They wanted to know the reason.. He said that he ate his medicines and prayed to God.

We continue to disciple and pray for Khun Chamlong. On a weekly basis we visit him and calls him up during mid-week. We teach him the bible and gave devotionals to do on a daily basis.

Employment: Second Hand Business

When one of our friend who was leaving Pattaya had a lot of stuffs to give away, we asked Khun Chamlong if he was interested in doing a second hand business and because he was, we took 5 bags full of things and gave it to them. Their relatives sells it at the market.
