Most of us would have faced trauma. Some are more traumatic than others. Some does not even realize that they have gone through some sort of trauma but nevertheless, the effects are there and visible.
To the more informed, they may seek help from mental health professionals. To those who are ignorant for whatever reasons, these emotional scars could be laying dormant with visible emotional harm.
It is scientifically proven that 90% of illnesses comes from negative emotions. But yet, most people rather just change their diet but when illness strike rather than looking at the root issues of why they have the sickness in the first place. It is more than common for people to start taking medication, eliminating harmful food and start on some sort of diet, which covers lots of unprocessed food and fresh vegetables. All these are good, but the main reason of the illness has not been looked at, unfortunately.

Van Der Kolk’s thesis is that after trauma we are left with a different nervous system and we are trying to control our inner turmoil. He writes, “These attempts to maintain control over unbearable physiological reactions can result in a whole range of physical symptoms, including fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and other autoimmune diseases.”(p.53). If the doctors are now saying that these diseases are from trauma, which consequently, arises from negative emotions; why are Christians still not addressing this issues?
And…
If we want to address this issues of healing from trauma. Do we know what to do? Are we equipped to be able to help someone overcome their traumatic experiences? Why should only the mental health professionals be able to help? Is not Jesus our Healer and Deliverer?
In the bible, Jesus consistently demonstrate that He is willing to heal and deliver. Can we go to Him for our healing today? Yes!!! Most definitely.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
I have personally ministered to people who have been traumatized. Some when they were a child and others in their adult life. Both had effective results. Some take longer to be healed but it can be healed.
